Penguin Remixed

Oooh, this is a really clever promo (not to mention a good example of a traditional industry heavyweight embracing technology rather than running scared from it). Penguin Books in the UK has gathered 30 of the best spoken word samples from some of the greatest books of all time, had them read by some of the finest actors around, and then provided them as free downloads for anybody to mix into their own digital music creations. It’s dubbed Penguin Remixed and it’s not the sort of thing one would expect from a book publisher.

(another great Cultural Canaries find)
