Founded in 2002 by Steve Hardy, Creative Generalist is an outpost for curious divergent thinkers who appreciate new ideas from a wide mix of sources. Completely random and updated regularly, inspiration drawn from – and relevant to – the larger creative world.

Besides being a hub for generalist ideas, news, and perspectives, one of the main goals of Creative Generalist is to introduce broad thinkers with one another. If that’s of interest to you as well, please visit the Society of Creative Generalists and/or join us for in-person CG sessions worldwide. The Society’s moderator is Arnold Beekes of The ProPerWay.

Creative Generalist began as a personal blog but is now a community resource and forum. If you’re interested in contributing to the Perspectives section of the blog please contact Steve with an introduction and essay/image proposal. We’re aiming to publish one each week.

In the past we have published interviews with a range of interesting generalists. If you know of someone who should be part of the Eclectic Curiosity interview series, please drop us an email. Your input and feedback is appreciated.

Product reviews – in particular, book reviews – are handled on a case-by-case basis. We’ll accept review copies but cannot guarantee a review – positive, negative, timely, or otherwise. That said, if the book is relevant to generalists we’ll probably embrace it both critically and enthusiastically. Email.
